It’s so easy to dive back into old patterns

There are beliefs and principles that I stick to

I honor them because it took me ages to get to that point

I hold onto them to keep going

But life is never predictable

There will always be new disruptions along the way

Nudging with zero care

Speaking as if I’m a wall

I tried dodging them with the values I hold

Standing as strong as I can to stop them

But it’s tiring, and it hurts

And what am I standing so long for?

So I let go of my principles

I let go of the beliefs that I held for so long

And it doesn’t mean that I throw them all away

They’re ingrained within me

Creating new paths to let me grow

I thank them they got me here

New places

New distractions

New ways to stand tall
